FoodBank

Middleton Park Baptist Church is involved in the South Leeds Foodbank project, which comes under the umbrella of a Christian Charity called Trussell Trust.  There are currently five Foodbanks in South Leeds and volunteers are drawn from various local churches.  Each Foodbank is held weekly, and the Middleton one is held on Tuesday mornings in nearby St Cross Anglican Church.  We have a few needy people each week, and offer them a hot drink, a listening ear and enough food for three days.  If appropriate we offer to pray a short prayer with them.   Local church members are encouraged to donate food, and we as a church contribute regularly.   Volunteers also help with occasional Saturday Supermarket collections.    We are so pleased that three local Supermarkets are happy for us to ask their customers to donate an item of food on their way out, and we have found people to be very generous in their giving."
